Armenia Withdraws Its Signature from EU Document Regarding Putin's Arrest

Armenia has withdrawn its signature from the Council of Europe (CoE) declaration that supports the International Criminal Court's (ICC) order for the "arrest" of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the publication Lenta.ru, citing information from the CoE's website.

According to the published text of the declaration, it has been endorsed by Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, and Moldova, as well as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Great Britain, Georgia, and several other countries. However, Yerevan's signature, which was initially included in the draft of the document, is now absent.

The authorities have not officially commented on the signing of the declaration. The members of the Council of Europe adopted the document on September 6. It calls for the establishment of a special tribunal for crimes of aggression against Ukraine and lists the orders for the "arrest" of Putin, children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova, Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu, and other Russian political figures.
