Visa Requirement between Armenia and Tunisia to be Eliminated

The agreement regarding the elimination of the visa requirement for holders of diplomatic passports between Armenia and Tunisia has been approved by the commission. This information was provided by the press service of the National Assembly.

The aim of the agreement is to facilitate the travel procedures for individuals holding diplomatic passports from both Armenia and Tunisia. Citizens of either state holding a valid diplomatic passport will be exempt from the obligation to obtain a visa to enter the territory of the other state for stays not exceeding 90 days within a period of 180 days from the day of transit or entry.

Armenia and Tunisia have significant potential for developing their relations. The agreement will also play an important role in expanding the legal framework in this area, which will allow for expanded and deepened political dialogue with Tunisia and invigorate reciprocal visits.

This was discussed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan during the National Assembly’s permanent commission on foreign relations meeting on September 4, in relation to the draft law on the ratification of the agreement for the elimination of the visa requirement for holders of diplomatic passports between the Governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Tunisia.

Commission member Hripsime Grigoryan noted that the ratification of the agreement is yet another positive step towards expanding relations with the friendly country and creating conducive conditions for reciprocal visits. She urged her colleagues to respond positively to the draft law.
