Ugandan Marathon Runner Attacked by Partner Ahead of 2024 Olympic Games
Ugandan marathon runner Rebecca Cheptegei, who is set to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, has been hospitalized with severe injuries following an attack by her partner. This was reported by Sky Sports and relayed by armsport.am.
The incident took place at the 33-year-old athlete's home in Kenya, where her partner, Dickson Ndima, allegedly poured gasoline on her and set her on fire during a heated argument.
Reports indicate that Cheptegei has sustained burns covering 75 percent of her body. Ndima also sustained injuries and has been taken to the hospital.
