Police Report on Tragic Car Accident on Yerevan-Yeraskh Road: Minor Children Among the Victims
On September 2, at 21:54, the Emergency Management Center of the Ararat Regional Rescue Service received a call reporting an accident at the beginning of the Tigranashen bends, with casualties and the need for rescue assistance.
A firefighting team was dispatched to the scene from the regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It was found that a truck marked 'ZIL' (driver A.M., born in 1987) collided with a car marked 'Mercedes-Benz' (driver A.G., born in 1982) at the 70th km of the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway. As a result of the collision, the passenger I.G. (born in 2014) died at the scene.
Rescuers extracted the trapped M.G. (born in 1989) and Y.G. (born in 2024) from the 'Mercedes-Benz', and also assisted E.G. (born in 2019) and A.G. These injured individuals were transported to a medical center, where doctors confirmed the death of Y.G. while the health condition of the other injured was assessed as serious.
Rescuers disconnected the 'Mercedes-Benz' vehicle and shut off the gas cylinder valve. According to shamshyan.com, the deceased 10-year-old was a girl, and the other deceased child was a 3-month-old boy; they were siblings, and the injured were also family members.
