VIDEO: Issues Found with Strawberries Exported to Russia, Papoyan
The Armenian Ministry of Economy is in regular direct contact with its Russian counterparts regarding all issues and inquiries related to food exports from Armenia to Russia. Two days ago, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan discussed dangerous pesticide findings in strawberries exported from Armenia with the Russian Minister of Agriculture and the head of Rosselkhoznadzor.
This was announced by Papoyan during a session of the permanent commission on regional and Eurasian integration issues of the National Assembly of Armenia. “During our phone conversations, we raised all concerns. All these issues are work-related. Yes, there was a truck that contained strawberries with issues,” Papoyan stated. “We have now accredited a new laboratory in Bagratashen, which, for instance, did not allow a truckload of peaches to leave for Russia yesterday. If that laboratory hadn’t been there, that truckload of peaches would, for example, have reached Krasnodar and then returned. In other words, we will not allow such strawberries to reach Russia anymore,” Papoyan added.
