Turkey Officially Applies for BRICS Membership

Turkey has officially applied to join BRICS, as it seeks to strengthen its global influence and establish new connections beyond its traditional Western allies, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

According to the administration of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the center of geopolitical attraction is shifting away from developed economies, the sources noted on the condition of anonymity.

It is worth noting that Azerbaijan had previously applied for BRICS membership and received support from Russia.
