Shahramanyan on Pashinyan's Statement Regarding Ruben Vardanyan
In a conversation with journalists at the Yerablur Military Pantheon, Samvel Shahramanyan, the president of Artsakh, stated that the Armenian authorities have always negotiated on behalf of the people of Artsakh. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Armenian government to bring the issue of Artsakh to the international agenda, and they are ready to cooperate with all interested entities on this matter.
According to Shahramanyan, the issue must reach the international agenda solely through Armenia, and the Armenian authorities must do everything possible to protect the rights of the people of Artsakh, including in international platforms.
Regarding the potential return of prisoners, Shahramanyan mentioned that certain efforts are being made. 'I have also seen that the leader of Armenia did not want to disclose details, and I will refrain from doing so as well,' he noted.
Shahramanyan further informed that he has established contact and spoken with the military and political leadership held in Baku during the initial stages.
As for Pashinyan's statement about Ruben Vardanyan during the press conference, he remarked, 'Those making such statements should speak more openly and accurately with the public so that it is clear what the discussion is about.'
In response to remarks that the Armenian authorities have abandoned Artsakh, Shahramanyan replied, 'You are correct in stating that the Armenian authorities have abandoned it; however, I believe that this is not the opinion of the majority of the Armenian population. Our firm conviction is that a just solution to the Artsakh issue can only be achieved through a powerful Armenia.'
It is worth noting that today marks the independence day of the Republic of Artsakh, on which occasion the president and leadership of Artsakh visited the 'Yerablur' military pantheon.
