Netanyahu Concerned: Mass Protests Erupt in Israel
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is worried about the mass protests occurring in the country. This was reported to CNN by an Israeli official.
Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, demanding an agreement with Hamas for the release of hostages, after the bodies of six individuals, including Russian Alexander Lobanov, were found in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reports.
In total, about 700,000 people participated in the protests across Israel, with the "Families of Hostages Forum" informing CNN that more than 500,000 demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv.
Thousands of people also gathered near the Israeli parliament in Jerusalem while an emergency cabinet meeting was underway. Many of the protesters made noise with whistles to disrupt the meeting. Participants in the demonstration have stated that they will return on Monday to continue to interfere with the government's work.
