Do Not Allow Unnecessary Reactions: Khachatur Sukiasyan Responds to Agnessa Khmoyan
A few days ago, I had a phone conversation with the Minister of Agriculture of Russia and the head of "Rosselkhoznadzor," during which all issues were raised and discussed in a working order. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a session of the National Assembly's Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration, in response to questions from committee member and "Armenia" faction MP Agnessa Khmoyan regarding the presence of pesticides found in strawberries exported from Armenia, as well as the issue of unsafe brandy.
According to Papoyan, there was a truck with strawberries that had problems. "We have now accredited a laboratory in Bagratashen, which did not allow the export of a batch of peaches yesterday," Papoyan noted. He indicated that the activities of this laboratory will significantly reduce the export of problematic products.
Regarding brandy, Papoyan stated that there has been no official comment on this matter. According to the statistical data he presented, trade between Armenia and Russia from January to June amounted to about $8.4 billion, which is 2.6 times higher than the same period last year. This includes gas, the volume of which has decreased as alternative energy sources, such as solar, are becoming more prevalent.
Alcoholic beverages rank third in exports, with brandy making up a substantial portion.
After Khmoyan posed her question, she addressed CP member Khachatur Sukiasyan, saying, "Mr. Sukiasyan, I cannot understand your reactions in relation to my inquiries. Please do not make unnecessary comments or reactions while I am asking my questions, okay? Please do not allow yourself unnecessary reactions during my inquiries."
Khachatur Sukiasyan responded, stating, "I did not come here to listen to anti-state speeches that denigrate our country and misrepresent our state's condition. I came here to listen to what agreement has been brought forward."
