Video: One of the Largest Protests Takes Place in Israel

Today, one of the largest protests takes place in Israel. The main demands of the protesters are the signing of a ceasefire deal with Hamas and the return of hostages from the Gaza Strip, as well as the resignation of the government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.

The largest demonstration occurred in Tel Aviv, where according to Israeli media, more than 100,000 protesters filled the streets of the city. Several roads, including the Ayalon Highway, have been closed. Simultaneously, there have been arrests and clashes with law enforcement in Jerusalem.

The immediate trigger for the protests was the discovery of the bodies of six hostages kidnapped from one of the tunnels in Rafah on October 7, 2023, by the Israel Defense Forces. The official version states that they were killed by militants before being located by IDF units and the Shin Bet security service.

Following this, activists, along with former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, called for people to take to the streets. They accused the ultra-Orthodox government of prolonging and hesitating to resolve the conflict, resulting in Israeli citizens still being held captive by Hamas and on the brink of death.
