Video: I guess we will be going to the regions, one sad citizen will be waiting in front of a nicely painted slaughterhouse. Pashinyan
Regardless of the support provided by the government, this is a business and every investor must understand that they are responsible for their own business. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today, August 29, during a government meeting discussing the activities of slaughterhouses.
"I guess we will have such cases, we will be going to the regions, and suddenly we will see a nice, painted mobile slaughterhouse with a sad citizen waiting for us in front. We will go and ask, ‘What’s wrong?’ and the reply will be, ‘It’s not working, there’s no demand.’ We will explain, ‘Brother, this is your business, we have supported you in every way. Ensuring the profitability of your business is your responsibility. You need to offer a service that attracts farmers.’ People think that if we have a support program and we give money, they are just one step away from saying, ‘Come and operate my slaughterhouse; I’ll stay home, and when it’s time, just give me my income and go about your business.’ This is an interesting line of thought," said Pashinyan.
He reiterated that business is a risk and it is exclusively the risk of the entrepreneur. "Someone thinks if they create a business and go bankrupt, it’s the government's fault. But when they create a business and earn millions, no one says, ‘Thank you, government.’ We don’t even want that; if they pay their taxes, that’s the best form of gratitude," he added.
