In What Scenarios Will the Risk of Escalation Increase: Hungary's Foreign Ministry Warns

Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has spoken out against the Ukrainian Armed Forces striking Russia with long-range weapons and further worsening the conflict.

“We do not want this,” Szijjarto wrote on Facebook. The Foreign Minister urged for an immediate halt to this “madness” and a refusal of new arms supplies to Ukraine.

“If more weapons enter the conflict zone, if long-range strikes are made against Russian territory, then the risk of escalation will only increase,” the Hungarian minister added. He stated that he would defend the peacekeeping line initiated by Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orbán during the informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels today.
