I Will Actively Push for Action, Borrell
Delivering new air defense systems to Ukraine without delay will not be easy, but Brussels will exert pressure on EU countries to fulfill their promises. This was acknowledged by the head of the EU's diplomatic service, Josep Borrell, before a non-official meeting of EU foreign ministers, where he arrived alongside Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. The main theme of the meeting will be the supply of air defense systems to Kyiv.
This meeting has been moved by Borrell from Budapest to Brussels as a form of reprimand to Hungary for Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's visits to Russia and China in early July, which carried peace initiatives not coordinated with the European Commission.
"It is one thing to make promises and another to fulfill them without delay, which is not so easy. Therefore, I will actively push EU countries to deliver on their promises, particularly in the area of air defense," Borrell stated.
