French Authorities Could Not Arrest Durov Without Biden's Approval, Carlson Says
French authorities could not have arrested Telegram founder Pavel Durov without the consent of U.S. President Joe Biden's administration. This opinion was expressed by journalist Tucker Carlson.
"This is a big step. It is very difficult for an outsider like me, who does not have the knowledge, to believe that French President Emmanuel Macron could have done this without the support or at least approval of the Biden administration," he stated in a video posted on his X page.
It is worth noting that Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, has been released on a €5 million bail. He has been prohibited from leaving French territory. He is suspected of inaction regarding the management of the Telegram platform in connection with financial and cyber crimes conducted through it.
