Fire in One of Yerevan's Buildings Leaves 30 Citizens Evacuated
A fire broke out this morning in the entrance of the third floor of a building on Solomon Taronczi Street in Yerevan. The damage is purely material, and the citizens have been evacuated. This information is reported by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“On August 29, at 06:47, the National Crisis Management Center received a call stating that smoke was observed coming from one of the apartments on the third floor of building number 1 on Solomon Taronczi Street,” says the ministry's announcement.
Emergency response units from the fire and rescue department of the Yerevan city branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the fire had started in the entrance of the third floor.
The fire was contained by 07:05 and extinguished by 07:15. A sofa and 15 meters of cable burned, and 15 electrical meters were also thermally damaged.
The rescuers evacuated 30 citizens from the building. Ambulance workers provided necessary medical assistance to two individuals on the spot.
