Russia Launches First Attack on Ukraine with Cluster Munitions: Prime Minister

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced that this is the first instance in which Russia has attacked distribution substations using cluster munitions. He made this statement during a forum attended by heads of government institutions on Tuesday, August 27.

“Yesterday, by the way, the first attacks were carried out with cluster munitions rockets, which targeted our distribution substations,” he noted. The Prime Minister also added that the losses in equipment have been minimal.
