A Grand Parade of Planets Expected on August 28: Such Major Alignments Occur Once Every 20 Years

The "Parade of Planets" is a beautiful astronomical phenomenon that occurs when several planets align on the same side of the Sun. On the early morning of August 28, 2024, residents of Earth will be able to witness the alignment of six planets: Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn.

According to the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will be visible to the naked eye; however, Mercury will be very close to the horizon, making it difficult to spot. Observers will require telescopes to see Neptune and Uranus.

While "Parade of Planets" is not an official astronomical term, it is also referred to as "planetary alignment." The alignment of these six planets is a very rare event, occurring only once every 20 years.

It is worth noting that the "Parade of Planets" will be visible almost everywhere during the morning hours, but August 28, 2024, is an overall date when this phenomenon will be well visible in many parts of the world. The alignment will be observable in the days before and after August 28.
