Wall of Incomplete Building Collapses, Casualty Reported
On August 25, at 21:37, the National Center for Crisis Management received a call reporting that the wall of an incomplete building on Ghapantsyan Street in Yerevan had collapsed due to strong winds and fallen onto a vehicle. There was a citizen trapped inside the vehicle, necessitating the assistance of rescuers.
A firefighting unit from the Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a rescue team from the Special Rescue Operations Center were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that the wall of the incomplete building had collapsed onto a Mitsubishi vehicle. Rescuers found the body of a man (born in 1991) inside the vehicle.
The area has been cordoned off by the rescuers in cooperation with officers from the police patrol service. The Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations and Director of the Rescue Service, Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan, is present at the scene.
