The Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, believes that the real reason for the arrest of Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov is the attempt to shut down the messenger.

“It is clear that the real reason for Pavel Durov's arrest is the attempt to close Telegram, the online platform where one can learn the truth about events happening in the world. This raises concerns among all those who strive for freedom of speech and aim to build a multipolar world,” Moskalkova wrote on her Telegram channel.
