Christ's Statue Nearly Completed; Sarukyan Monitors Construction Work

Gagik Sarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia party, monitored the construction work of the statue of Jesus Christ this morning. In response to a question from Tert.am regarding the criticisms related to the statue's installation, Sarukyan stated that he views criticism as normal.

“No matter how good a project is in the world, there will always be people who criticize, oppose, or abstain. The proof of everything will be time. I can say that this will be one of the wonders of our country's recognition and empowerment. Over time, those who express opposition or abstain will all understand. In all of this, I do not accept only slander,” he said.

The statue of Jesus Christ is set to rise atop Mount Hatis. The statue stands at 33 meters, while with its pedestal, the total height should be 77 meters. However, Gagik Sarukyan informed today that changes have occurred, and the statue will fully reach 95 meters.

Sarukyan emphasized that the statue needs to be completed, secured, and then transported to the summit of Mount Hatis.
