Lebanese Prime Minister Calls Meeting of Emergency Committee
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has announced a meeting of the ministerial committee on emergencies in connection with a new phase of tension between the Hezbollah movement and Israel. This was reported by the Lebanese National News Agency, which stated that the committee meeting will take place in Beirut.
“All members of the Cabinet of Ministers who have the opportunity are also invited to participate in this meeting,” emphasized Mikati.
During the night, the Israeli army's press service reported that its fighter jets had attacked Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, citing the preparation of missile strikes against Israel as the reason.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a state of emergency in the country for 48 hours. Later, Israeli sources reported the launch of hundreds of rockets from Lebanon.
In turn, Hezbollah announced that it had completed the first phase of its operations against Israel, with claims that Israel was conducting preventive actions and attempting to undermine the operation being described as unfounded.
