Durov Made a Fatal Mistake by Leaving Russia to Become a 'Citizen of the World': Medvedev
The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has made a fatal mistake by leaving Russia in order to become a 'citizen of the world'. This statement was made by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, in his Telegram channel, noting that for the West, the entrepreneur remains a 'dangerous Russian'.
Medvedev recalled his conversation with Durov, who had refused to cooperate with law enforcement regarding serious crimes and left Russia. 'I wanted to be a citizen of the world who lives well without my homeland. Ubi bene ibi patria (Latin for 'the homeland is where one feels good),' Durov told Medvedev.
