"IS" Claims Responsibility for Attack in Solingen, Germany
The terrorist organization "Islamic State" has claimed responsibility for the knife attack that occurred in the German city of Solingen. The attack was reportedly carried out by a member of the terrorist group as a response to the actions against Palestinian Muslims, according to Reuters, citing terrorist sources.
The assault took place late at night during a music festival. An armed man fatally stabbed three people and seriously injured several others.
Earlier, German media outlet Bild reported that special police forces conducted an operation in one of the refugee shelters in Solingen related to the knife attack on festival attendees by an unidentified individual. According to unconfirmed reports, law enforcement detained a Syrian man.
