High Voltage Power Supply Line "Feroslavnaya-1" Disconnected at Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant
Today, the 330 kV "Feroslavnaya-1" high voltage power supply line has been disconnected at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, with radiation levels remaining within normal background values. This announcement was made by the plant's press service.
"The NPP’s internal needs are supplied by the 750 kV Dneprovskaya line. No safety violations have been reported. The personnel are prepared for response," the statement said.
Currently, all units of the Zaporizhia NPP are in a 'cold shutdown' state, with equipment maintained in accordance with necessary regulations and under strict control of radiation safety standards.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian military has taken control of the Mezhevoye settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic.
The statement added, "The radiation background at the plant and its surrounding area remains unchanged and is at a level consistent with the normal operation of the energy blocks, not exceeding natural background values."
It is noteworthy that the Zaporizhia NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, near the city of Enerhodar. It is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of blocks and installed capacity, housing six energy blocks. Since March, the Zaporizhia NPP has been under the protection of Russian military forces.
