Putin Addresses Horrific Incident at Volgograd Correctional Colony

Russian President Vladimir Putin has convened an operational meeting of the Security Council to discuss the hostage-taking incident involving prisoners at Correctional Colony No. 19 in Volgograd. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service.

According to the state leader, the head of the federal correctional colony has briefed him on the event. “I am aware of the situation and would like to hear the thoughts and assessments of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the FSB,” he stated.

Earlier, the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case regarding the hostage-taking incident at Correctional Colony No. 19 in the city of Surovikino, Volgograd region.
