Health Condition of Armenian Citizen Deteriorates After Descent from Mount Ararat: Details on Passenger Transferred from Turkey by Helicopter

“Thanks to the dedicated work of our colleague Gevorg Kalloshyan and the promptness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was possible to organize the transfer of an Armenian citizen from Turkey to Armenia by air in almost one day,” said Gor Tsarukyan, director of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Prime Minister's Office, providing details about the Armenian citizen whose health condition deteriorated and was transferred from Turkey by air.

“After ascending and descending Mount Ararat, the citizen's health condition sharply worsened, and she fell into diabetic coma. Turkish doctors in the hospital in Dogubeyazit managed to stabilize the woman's condition somewhat. The doctors insisted that the transfer to Armenia should be carried out only by air. Here, the Armenian medical helicopter came to the rescue, and the Government organized the transfer of the citizen to Armenia free of charge,” he wrote.

He noted that the Turkish side also responded promptly and did not create any issues regarding the provision of an air corridor. Earlier, it was reported that through cooperation between the Armenian and Turkish sides, the health-compromised Armenian citizen was transferred to Armenia by air.
