Foreign Citizen Abduction Case Uncovered in Yerevan; Indian National Found in Trunk

Today, August 23, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 00:30, operational information was received at the Yerevan unit of the Police Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia that suspicious individuals were in a car with the license plate 01 VK 011, a Mercedes S500.

As reported by Shamshyan.com, the patrol police noticed the suspicious Mercedes S500 near the address of 1 Acharian. They requested the driver to present identification and asked him to open the trunk for inspection, but the driver displayed strange behavior. During the inspection, a citizen was found in the trunk.

The patrol officers arrested the driver, 35-year-old Vahe Karapetyan, a resident of Vayots Dzor Province, and the Indian citizens present in the vehicle: 19-year-old Balwant Masi, 26-year-old Arvindar Singh, 33-year-old Harped Singh, 20-year-old Abi Pratap Singh, 20-year-old Harman Singh, and 29-year-old Alisha Masi, on suspicion of abduction, illegal possession of weapons, and ammunition. They were transferred to the Avan division of the police.

It has been established that on August 22, around 23:30, these individuals abducted 32-year-old Arif Maniar, an Indian citizen residing temporarily in one of the villages of Armavir, and forcibly placed him in the trunk of the Mercedes S500. Vahe Karapetyan is the director of Izivey VK LLC. The family is known to own the famous Gladzor hotel complex in Jermuk.
