Fight Among Indians in Yerevan Ends in Stabbing: One Injured
An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on August 21. Around 1:25 AM, Sonya Ajey called the police department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Erebuni, reporting that Indian nationals approached her, explaining that they had been attacked with a knife at 27 Kharbek-Doni Street, showing wounds from the knife on their body.
At approximately 2:15 AM, a person identified as A. T. called the police department in Erebuni, informing them that during a fight on Kharbek-Doni Street, his Indian brother-in-law was stabbed.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, shortly thereafter, the Erebuni Medical Center informed the police that an ambulance had taken Singh Banjlti Blijharjutin from the location of the stabbing at 27 Kharbek-Doni Street, diagnosing him with a 'hand injury.'
Criminal investigation department officers of the Erebuni police, utilizing the received information, determined that around 1:00 AM, Indian citizens 29-year-old Harinder Singh, 28-year-old Govind Kumar, and their acquaintances had a dispute with 20-year-old Ajay Rajputini, Banjlti Blijharjutin, and 34-year-old Sonya Rajpuri in a hostel located at 27/4 Kharbek-Doni Street. During the altercation, Govind Kumar used a kitchen knife to inflict injuries on A. Rajputini, causing cuts, while Banjlti Blijharjutin went to the kitchen and attempted to take the knife from G. Kumar, resulting in injuries to his hand. Furthermore, during the confrontation, H. Singh, G. Kumar, and their friends physically assaulted S. Rajpuri, causing physical pain.
