18+VIDEO: Radicals Take Hostages in Volgograd Penal Colony No. 19, Casualties Reported

Radicals have taken hostages in Penal Colony No. 19 in Volgograd, Russia, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. According to initial reports, among the hostages is the 45-year-old head of the colony, Andrey Devyatov. However, another source claims that he has managed to escape and is currently hospitalized with injuries.

Special forces have arrived at the scene, where 1,230 inmates are being held. The assailants identify themselves as members of a banned terrorist organization. Preliminary information indicates that one person has died and three others have been injured during the attack.

The Federal Penitentiary Service reports that efforts are underway to secure the release of the hostages. The radicals are demanding $2 million and a helicopter.
