VIDEO: We will discuss and respond when we receive an official reaction from Russia regarding Armenian brandy, Papoyan

Armenian brandy producers have not yet expressed any dissatisfaction regarding difficulties in exporting their products to Russia. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, during a conversation with journalists.

According to him, Armenia aims to create an isotopic laboratory in the country by 2025. If this does not succeed, brandy producers will face a mandatory requirement for isotopic laboratory examination in European countries.

“If any type of brandy spirit is exported from Armenia, it will have a laboratory examination document, stating, for example, that this barrel of brandy has passed examination in such and such Swiss isotopic laboratory, proving that it is spirit obtained from grapes,” Papoyan stated.

He emphasized that in this case, it will be possible to legally discuss the quality of the brandy and present these documents if necessary.

The minister added that all types of brandy exported from Armenia must undergo mandatory isotopic examination in Russia, and without this, no Armenian brandy can be sold in the Russian market.

It is worth noting that on August 20, it became known that the “Antikontrafakt” Association and the Union of Producers of Brandy, Spirits and Alcoholic Beverages of Russia conducted a joint study and found that nearly 90% of Armenian brandies sold in Russian stores are unsafe, with about half of the products containing non-grape spirit.
