No Official Notice Received on Armenian Brandy, Says Ministry of Economy
The Ministry of Economy of Armenia has not received the results of a recent study conducted in Russia. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the press service of the ministry.
It was revealed today that the Anti-Contrafact Association and the Union of Producers of Brandy, Spirits, and Alcoholic Beverages of Russia conducted a joint study and found that almost 90% of Armenian brandies sold in Russian stores are unsafe, and nearly half of the products contain non-grape alcohol.
“We have not received any official notice or the basis for the study; we will address the topic after familiarizing ourselves with the facts,” the ministry stated.
Earlier reports indicated that nearly 90% of Armenian brandies sold in Russia are unsafe, and almost 50% of the products contain non-alcoholic spirits, which should not be present in brandy.
