Eight Executed in Iran in a Single Day

Early yesterday morning, eight individuals were executed in two prisons in Iran. This information was reported by two human rights organizations.

The Iranian human rights organization based in Oslo stated that Iran has executed at least 376 people this year. According to human rights groups, the number of executions had decreased during the first half of this year. However, following a hiatus in executions during the presidential elections, they resumed once again.

According to Amnesty International, Iran carried out 853 executions in 2023, with at least 481 of them related to drug offenses.
