The Armenian Government Elite Knew What to Expect for Artsakh: Tigran Abrahamyan
One year ago around this time, a humanitarian crisis in Artsakh reached a critical point. This was stated by opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan on his Facebook page.
“The situation was extremely dire not only in the everyday lives of people but also in the Defense Army, where supplies were severely disrupted, and individual commanders were sourcing daily food for the stationed soldiers from nearby villages. Planned military operations were executed at only 5-10% capacity, from combat readiness to basic daily needs.”
“Exactly one month later, when all of Artsakh and particularly the structures and subdivisions responsible for the country's defense were completely exhausted, Azerbaijan launched military operations. Despite the fact that the Armenian Prime Minister was not physically engaged in cycling during those days, the state's situational response did not notably differ from the behavior exhibited today. The Armenian government elite generally knew what to expect for Artsakh but not only did they fail to act, they also signaled Azerbaijan that they had no intention of responding to the actions against Artsakh,” he wrote.
