Support Amount for Residents Affected by Flood Disasters Announced
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has announced that families in the Lori and Tavush regions who have suffered damage to their residential properties or have had members deceased due to the floods will receive social support from the state. This assistance will also extend to non-residential buildings owned by these families, which have been used for life-sustaining and economic activities (such as livestock barns, bakeries, storages, personal garages, greenhouses, etc.).
Specifically, in the case of the communities of Alaverdi in Lori Province and Ayrium in the Novoberian community of Tavush Province:
- Based on the damage to buildings with a usable area of 5 square meters or more, each family will receive 200,000 drams.
For the communities in Lori Province such as Tumanyan, Pambak, Tashir, Stepanavan, and Gyulagarak, as well as Arjnis, Bagratashen, Debedavan, Haykakan, Ptghavan in the Novoberian community of Tavush, and the towns of Dilijan and Ijevan:
- Each family will receive 150,000 drams based on damage to buildings with a usable area of 5 square meters or more.
In all affected communities and settlements:
- Based on damage to buildings with a usable area of up to 5 square meters, each family will receive 50,000 drams.
The assistance will only apply to buildings that have been actually used for the life-sustaining and economic activities of families, considering that for buildings used as business (economic) activity areas, the Government has approved a different support scheme for entrepreneurs.
