Shooting in Istanbul: One Palestinian Businessman Killed, Two Injured
The Istanbul police have launched a "large-scale investigation" following the shooting that resulted in the death of a Palestinian and left two people injured while they were sitting in a car, according to Turkish media reports.
The assailant reportedly discarded a silenced pistol at the crime scene, as mentioned in a statement from the Istanbul governor's office.
Turkish news agency Demiroren reported that the man sitting in the driver's seat was killed, while his friend was seriously injured during the shooting that took place on Sunday evening. Another individual, described as the slain man's bodyguard by the governor's office, was injured in the leg.
According to media reports, the attack was carried out by one or more assailants who were wearing masks. The victims were seated on Dilaver Street in the northern Kagithane district of Istanbul at the time of the attack. It has been noted that the injured individual is a businessman.
