Four-Car Collision on the Spitak-Vanadzor Highway Results in Fatality
On August 18, at 1:31 PM, a call was received at the Lori region crisis management center reporting a traffic accident involving four vehicles near the 4th km of the Spitak-Vanadzor highway. Emergency rescue services were dispatched to the scene.
A firefighting team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the site. It was determined that a Nissan (driver S. H., born in 1958), two Mitsubishi, and a Vaz (driver R. Ch., born in 1947) were involved in the collision. The driver of the Vaz vehicle was reported deceased.
The rescuers disconnected the Nissan vehicle's power source, secured the gas tank valves of the two Mitsubishi and the Vaz cars, extricated R. Ch.'s body from the vehicle, and transferred it to the van for deceased transport.
