Court Hearings for Catholicos' Nephew's Case Fail to Proceed as Victim's Side Fails to Appear

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that the court hearings for the detained prosecutor and nephew of the Catholicos have not been held for nearly six months. According to information received by 'Zhoghovurd', the issue is that the victims involved in the case are not appearing in court and are citing various excuses.

It has come to our attention that the criminal case has reached the final stages in court but has come to a standstill. It is noteworthy that Koryun Nersisyan, the deputy prosecutor of the Shengavit administrative district, was detained for an extended period, and in recent months, the measure of restraint against him has been changed.

As a reminder, on June 11, 2022, thanks to large-scale operational and investigative measures conducted by the National Security Service in cooperation with the Prosecutor General's Office, factual data was obtained indicating that K.N., as a public official, facilitated a lenient sentence for the defendant N.D. in the criminal case being examined in the General Jurisdiction Court of Armavir Province by using his official position. With the assistance and mediation of G.G. and N.A., he received a bribe of 2,500,000 AMD from N.D.

Koryun Nersisyan's case is currently at the Anti-Corruption Court.
