Russia Plans to Announce New Mobilization, Timing Revealed
Russia is planning to declare a new mobilization at the end of 2024, Bloomberg reports, citing sources close to the Kremlin and the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The publication notes that "the Russian army is currently facing a severe shortage of defensive reserves. This was demonstrated by the Ukrainian armed forces' offensive in the Kursk region. Regions are failing to meet their conscription quotas, and the increase in payments for contractual workers has significantly not changed the situation."
The Russian Armed Forces are struggling to replenish losses on the frontlines, which have reached their highest levels since the start of the large-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022, the agency states, referring to three individuals close to the Kremlin and the Russian Ministry of Defense, who requested anonymity.
