Around 65 Injured by Earthquake in Syria, Felt in Neighboring Countries
An earthquake has struck western Syria, with tremors also felt by residents in Jordan, northern Lebanon, and Israel. The ground shaking continued for several hours, according to reports from Reuters.
Estimates of the quake's magnitude range from 5 to 5.5. Mild tremors were felt in Aleppo, located 121 kilometers from the epicenter.
According to the Syrian Ministry of Health, around 65 individuals have sustained light to moderate injuries. Reports indicate that buildings have incurred minor damages.
SANA reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was in eastern Hama, with tremors recorded at 11:56 PM local time. The Syrian National Center for Earthquake Monitoring noted that seismic stations recorded 13 aftershocks.
