Photos: The 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris Conclude

The President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, officially declared the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris closed. The closing ceremony took place in the legendary Stade de France.

The Olympic flame was extinguished by Leon Marchand, a French swimmer and quadruple champion of the Paris Games. At the end of the closing ceremony, the Olympic flag was handed over to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

The official closing ceremony was also attended by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who made a dramatic leap from the roof of the Stade de France to take the flag from the Mayor of Los Angeles and symbolically bring it out of the stadium, representing its transfer to Los Angeles.

Additionally, the audience was treated to a video featuring performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers rock band, singer Billie Eilish, and rapper Snoop Dogg.

The 34th Summer Olympic Games will be hosted by Los Angeles in 2028.
