20-Year-Old Pregnant Woman Dies at Astghik Medical Center; Criminal Proceedings Initiated

A tragic incident occurred in Yerevan on August 7. At approximately 17:15, operational information was received at the Malatia Division of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs stating that a pregnant woman had died at the 'Astghik' medical center. Law enforcement and investigators have determined that the deceased is 20-year-old Marine P., a resident of one of the villages in the Tavush Province, who was 20 weeks pregnant and had been receiving inpatient treatment.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the basis of 'murder' characteristics. A forensic examination of the body has been ordered by the investigator.
