Olympic Games Conclude: What Results Did Armenia Achieve?
The 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, which started on July 26, have concluded. The United States topped the chart of 84 participating countries, winning 126 medals (40 gold, 44 silver, 42 bronze). China came in second place with 91 medals (40 gold, 27 silver, 24 bronze), followed by Japan in third place with 45 medals (20 gold, 12 silver, 13 bronze).
Among Armenia’s 15 representatives, 4 secured medals: gymnast Artur Davtyan (silver), Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan (silver), weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan (silver), and Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan (bronze).
In comparison, our neighbor Georgia won 7 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), Iran claimed 12 medals (3 gold, 6 silver, 3 bronze), Turkey acquired 8 medals (3 silver, 5 bronze), and Azerbaijan received 7 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze).
