Ukraine Likely to Exchange Occupied Territories in Kursk Region for Areas in Kharkiv: Bild

Ukraine is likely to exchange the occupied territories in the Kursk region for areas in the Kharkiv region, reports the German publication Bild. It notes that in the last 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have seized eight more villages in the Kursk region. These include Goncharivka west of Suja, as well as territories north of the town.

The publication states, "It seems possible that the Ukrainian army will capture Suja in the coming days and may hold it for an unpredictable amount of time. If this happens, it may exchange the Russian-occupied territories of the Kharkiv region or even hold them for bargaining in future negotiations." Bild estimates the grouping of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at slightly over 2,000 soldiers and 100 armored vehicles.

"Russia has no ground reserves to confront them. At the same time, the Ukrainians are extremely vulnerable from the air and are subjected to drone attacks. Every day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lose 5-10 armored vehicles. There seems to be complete chaos at times on both sides. Overall, it is still too early to call the start of the Ukrainian offensive brilliant or label it as suicide just 48 hours after it commenced," writes the German publication.
