HETC on Power Interruptions at the Opera Theater

Power interruptions at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet are due to deficiencies in the theater's electric supply system, with transformers requiring repair, adjustment, and possibly replacement. This was reported by the "Electric Networks of Armenia" company in response to the theater’s announcement regarding an interruption of electricity supply during a ballet performance on August 7, which halted the show without prior notice.

"The Electric Networks of Armenia" company has recently received multiple alerts from the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet regarding periodic power outages. To address the issue, staff from the Electric Networks conducted several inspections, reviewed the theater's power supply scheme, and discovered problems with the theater's internal electrical supply. Our specialists thoroughly explained this situation to the relevant staff at the theater, providing necessary professional consultation. The interruptions are linked to deficiencies in the theater's electrical supply, with transformers needing repairs, adjustments, and possibly replacements," the company explained.

According to the same clarification, following the power interruption during the performance on August 7, employees of the Electric Networks once again visited the theater and confirmed the issue. No faults were found in that section of the HETC distribution network. The Electric Networks of Armenia assures that they are willing to provide additional professional consulting and, if necessary, create a joint working group to assist the theater as much as possible.

It has been previously reported that the Opera Theater considers power interruptions unacceptable and that management will appeal to the relevant authorities.
