Russian Armed Forces Halt Ukrainian Armed Forces' Attempts to Invade Kursk
The Russian military is thwarting attempts by certain units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to invade Kursk. This information has been reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the agency, the units of the 'North' group are continuing to eliminate Ukrainian military formations in the areas of Kursk's Suzhy and Korenevo, which are located directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border, in cooperation with the Russian Federal Security Service. Active fire is being carried out on personnel and equipment.
'Units protecting the state border, together with border guards, reservists, and aviation, have not allowed the enemy to advance during the day,' the statement reads.
The acting Deputy Governor of Kursk, Andrey Belostotskiy, stated in an interview with Channel One that the Russian military is carrying out active operations in the Suzhy area, pushing forces beyond Russia's borders.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, within a day, the adversary has lost approximately 400 soldiers and 32 units of armored equipment, including tanks, four armored vehicles, three infantry fighting vehicles, and 24 combat 'Cossack' armored vehicles.
Since the start of hostilities in the Kursk direction, the opponent has lost 660 soldiers and 82 units of armored equipment, including eight tanks, 12 armored vehicles, six infantry fighting vehicles, 55 combat armored vehicles, and an engineering vehicle for fortification.
It is noteworthy that around 3,000 peaceful citizens have been evacuated from the border areas of the Kursk region.
Recall that earlier, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, reported that on August 6, at 5:30 AM, a group of about one thousand Ukrainian armed forces launched an offensive aimed at capturing territories in the Kursk region. The Ukrainian military's advance into Russian territory has been halted.
Gerasimov noted that the operation in the Kursk region would conclude once the enemy has been defeated, and the Russian forces would exit the Russian state border.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation in the Kursk region, stated that the Kyiv regime has launched another large-scale provocation, firing indiscriminately, including at civilian targets.
