Central Bank of Armenia Urges Against Sharing Personal Data with Unknown Individuals
The Central Bank of Armenia urges the public to refrain from providing personal data to unknown individuals. This announcement was made by the Bank in light of recent findings regarding increased attempts by fraudsters to obtain personal and banking information.
Specifically, fraudsters are establishing contact with citizens through fake phone calls and various correspondences, posing as employees of financial institutions. They send links and encourage individuals to follow these links, filling out the required personal and banking data, thereby gaining access to citizens' financial resources.
The Central Bank advises vigilance and outlines the following precautions:
- Do not provide any personal bank details to anyone.
- Avoid accessing unknown and suspicious links.
- Do not activate any unexpected confirmation codes received from unknown sources.
