7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Japan
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake has struck the southwestern region of Japan, specifically near Kyushu Island, prompting a tsunami warning. This information was reported by the Japan Meteorological Agency. Earlier, a magnitude of 6.9 was recorded.
The epicenter was located near the Miyazaki Prefecture on Kyushu Island, at a depth of 30 kilometers beneath the ocean floor. According to seismologists, wave heights in the regions of Kagoshima, Kōchi, Miyazaki, Oita, and Ehime may reach up to 1 meter. It has been noted that the first waves could already be reaching the shores of these areas.
