Iran Will Never Remain Silent in Case of Violation of Its Interests and Security, President Pezeshkian Tells Macron

Iran considers avoiding war and establishing global peace and security as one of its main principles, but it will never remain silent in the face of violations of its interests and security. This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, according to Tasnim news agency.

"Under international treaties and laws, Iran will never remain silent in the face of violations of its interests and security. The Zionist regime seeks to ignite fires in the region through its criminal and terrorist actions against the people of Gaza, as well as the official assassination of Iran's guest, Ismail Haniya," Pezeshkian said.

He emphasized that the United States and Western countries support Israel in committing crimes, genocides, and acts of terrorism instead of condemning them. "If America and Western countries truly want to prevent war and instability in the region, they must compel this regime to stop its genocide and attacks on Gaza and accept a ceasefire," the Iranian president said.

It is noted that Israel is preparing for possible attacks from Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement in the coming days and assumes that the attacks could come from several fronts.

Iran, its Lebanese ally Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Hamas have blamed Israel for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran on Wednesday. His assassination took place hours after an Israeli strike in Beirut killed Hezbollah's military commander, Fuad Shuqri. Israel has claimed responsibility for Shuqri's assassination but has not officially commented on Haniya's killing. Both Iran and Hezbollah have vowed to take revenge for the assassinations.

In this context, Israeli security forces are in a state of 'highest alert,' while members of the US-led international coalition, including Great Britain and Arab allied countries, aim to thwart Iran's potential attacks and are trying to deter and prevent them.
