Iran is Increasing Tensions with Jordan Against Israel Through Arms Smuggling, Says Foreign Minister

Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz has stated that the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization proves that the "Palestinian issue is now fully controlled by Iran and Hamas.”

He remarked that without Israeli operations in Gaza, the area would entirely fall under Hamas control: “In Judea and Samaria, Abbas and the Palestinian authorities survive only due to Israel's intensive military operations against Hamas and Islamic Jihad infrastructures, which are supported and promoted by Iran,” he noted on X.

Katz accused Iran of smuggling weapons: “This is done to destabilize the Jordanian regime and subsequently flood the refugee camps and the entire area in Judea and Samaria with weapons and funding, as well as to create another terrorist front against the main population centers of Israel from the east,” he said.
