Birth Rates Decrease Compared to 2022: 'Haykakan Jamanak'
'Haykakan Jamanak' reports that according to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the number of the permanent population in Armenia as of July 1, 2024, based on the 2022 census, stands at 3,057.8 thousand people, including urban residents at 1,973.4 thousand and rural residents at 1,084.4 thousand.
This indicates that compared to the previous two years, the population has increased by almost 200 thousand births. However, when comparing the statistics from 2022 and the period from January to June 2024, we notice that in the first half of 2024, there were 15,671 registered births, which is a decrease of 1,314 births compared to the same period in 2022.
